Actually, I borrowed it from her...technically. Fujisaki-san is a genius-level computer programmer, and Alter Ego was the name of a program she wrote. We all wound up familiar with it, in one way or another; to call it unique would be an understatement.

When I was picking my network handle, I chose that one because I assumed that if any of my other classmates did show up here, they might see it and make contact. Like a signal that only our class would recognize.

So really, what I did was give it back after borrowing it awhile.

When you put it like that, it sounds...intriguing.

Mm, there are legends about a red thread where I'm from. They vary from tale to tale, understandably, but the common theme is that the string represents "fate". It connects people who were destined to find each other.
