An acquaintance of mine is trying to persuade me to take up a hobby. One I don't know much of anything about, and wouldn't in any way be good at. At least not to begin with.

...About that, actually. People I know, and whatnot.

One of my classmates arrived here recently. That classmate is still settling in, I think, but...it's an unexpected arrival, to say the least.

I told them I'd pay for anything they needed while they get settled, though I'm not altogether sure they'll take me up on it. This classmate is...shy, and doesn't like to be a burden.

Do you remember at the bonfire, I told you about...a terrible mistake I made? This classmate is the reason no one died as a result of that mistake. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say I feel profoundly indebted to them.
