[If the punch in the arm wasn't followed up by Prompto so very obviously feeling out his muscles, he'd definitively get a headlock and his hair all ruffled up. However, however- he doesn't want to ruin the mood, and he certainly doesn't want Prompto's hand to be removed.]

You didn't, I may have arrived earlier than intended. As for the clothes- [he leans down a little so he's face to face with Prompto, barely an inch from each other-] I like seeing you work. [And he's not lying- there's always this intensity behind Prompto when he focuses on something that just demands attention. And Gladio loves paying attention to him.]

And if you do good work, I might let you take a picture. Any type of picture. [Isn't he just generous.]

( and what--is with that? gladiolus leans down, their faces so close that he nearly bumps their noses together with the effort to try to keep them separated. uncertain, almost confused, his breath hisses in through his teeth: when is the last time that gladiolus made him feel that kind of giddy embarrassment, like this, the kind that comes just from some good attention? he laughs, but his cheeks are pink, and he immediately brings up both hands again to give gladiolus a good-natured shove. )

Alright, alright. Some good work, then, and I'll be taking pictures the whole time, thank you very much.

( clearly he's not intending to ask permission: and his grin is a little cheeky as he takes a step away, stretches his arms up behind his head and starts skipping ahead a few steps, expecting gladiolus to follow. )

We're gonna go stake out a dressing room, right? Get chased out of a shopping mall? We're feeling risky?

[Hey, he was just following up on everything they were texting- he's a man of his word, after all. If he read the signs wrong then damn he lost his touch. But Prompto's cheeks are pink and he's laughing so he should be doing something right... right? The 'shove' does very little to Gladio and Prompto gets and nudges him in the ribs in return.]

A lot of pictures? Wow, you drive a hard bargain.

[Gladio gives him a good-natured nudge in the back as they walk, grinning like an idiot. It's very hard not to be in good mood around Prompto, he is like a spark of sunshine.]

I'll let you pick the hunting grounds.

Oh~kay... In that case, we're gonna go this way.

( he gives a quick tilt of his head: really, the shopping districts around his apartment complex aren't too far of a walk anyway, and it's nice to just stroll through the city as though they're back home, like nothing is strange here, like they're used to it already. the thought hits him then--how long have they been in this place? it's been over half a year, at this point, and so much has already happened...

his arms swing a little at his sides, considering, and he goes quiet for a moment, like he's trying to pick his words correctly. he's leading them down the correct street, at least; they should get to where he's taking them in just another five minutes or so. gladiolus keeps a good pace. )

So how's it been going, here? You're happy, right? ( a smile peeks out, as he looks at gladiolus, sidelong. ) You look happy. It makes me happy, too.

[They did get used to this place, it's hard not to when you spend day after day here, trying to first survive and adapt, and then make something that resembles a living.

He shoots Prompto a look, then tosses his hand over his shoulders, this time being nice to the guy's hair.]

If you're happy then I'm happy too, too. [He grins.]

But in all seriousness, [he gives a small sigh and scratches his cheek,] it's a living. It could've been worse, it could've been better. But I do miss home, [he admits openly. He misses Eos, even if it's covered in demons. In fact, he wishes he can go back and continue working on exterminating them.]

But I have you guys here, you and Iggy, so I won't complain. So long you guys are alright, then I'm fine too. Don't hesitate to ask me for help, got it chocobo? [Now hair gets a small ruffle.]

( it's a relief to hear gladiolus say it--because he's been thinking the same thing, too. it's easy enough to adapt to a new place: they've always done it, always had to, and being out on the road has meant getting used to the idea of constantly traveling, never staying rooted in one place. but it's different, here, and at times, weirder than being anywhere back home; he misses knowing and understanding things, much better than he knows and understands things here.

but gladiolus' arm around his shoulders? he knows that weight. it feels good, comfortable, and makes him smile a bit, a grin tugging at his lips as he lifts a hand, catches the arm that gladiolus has draped over him and holds the hand, there. )

Yeah, well, same goes, okay? If you need any help with anything, I'm your man.

( his nose wrinkles, but he'll allow the hair ruffle. for now. )

But I swear, if we get arrested for this, you better get Ignis to bail us out...

( a small nod of his chin, as he squeezes gladiolus' hand. )

Come on. Shops are right here! Let's go.
